CPBA BoardInterest in Joining the CPBA Board

The Central Park Business Association (CPBA) is a 501(c)(3) organization composed of businesses located in or serving Denver’s Central Park neighborhood. We provide members of the business community a place for connection and collaboration. We are your neighbors, friends, and colleagues—here to support each other and promote our local businesses within this community we call home.

CPBA is looking to expand its Board of Directors to help with expanding networking opportunities and spread the word about our association. Most of what we accomplish in our organization is done through self-motivated volunteers and an active cadre of key leaders and board members.

The governing body of the CPBA is the Board of Directors, which establishes policy and directs the activities of the organization. Members govern the overall direction of the CPBA and provide input and resources to the organization’s programs. Participation in a leadership role offers a chance to be a key player in shaping the CPBA’s future and to gain practical leadership experience, along with developing a network of professional contacts.

The Board reviews and makes recommendations regarding programming, approves policies, and makes decisions regarding organizational finances. Board members may serve as officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and committee chairs and/or members. Board members are elected each January and serve a staggered 2-year term. The Board meets regularly (no less than quarterly, sometimes monthly). Applicants must be over 18 years of age.

Board Members are expected to:

  • Be an active paid member of the CPBA as of September 30 (of the current calendar year)
  • Attend all board meetings
  • Provide input to operations
  • As able, participate in events and fundraising efforts
  • Promote the CPBA to colleagues and community

This is a volunteer opportunity.
